If you’ve received a new Commonwealth Bank card, you’ll need to activate it before use. CommBank offers a simple activation process that can be completed either via the mobile app or through NetBank online banking. The process is quick, secure, and can be done in just a few steps.

How to Activate a Commonwealth Bank Card via the Mobile App

You can activate your CommBank card easily using the mobile app. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to the CommBank mobile app.
  2. Click Cards from the bottom menu.
  3. Select the card you wish to activate.
  4. Tap Activate card.
  5. Enter your CommBank app PIN.
  6. Type the last 4 digits of your new card.
  7. Create a new PIN for the card.
  8. Press Submit to complete activation.

How to Activate a Commonwealth Bank Card via NetBank

If you prefer to activate your card through online banking, here’s how:

  1. Log in to your NetBank account.
  2. Go to Settings in the top menu.
  3. Select Card activation.
  4. Enter the last 4 digits of your card.
  5. Click Check.
  6. Create a secure PIN for your card.
  7. Click Set PIN.
  8. Request a NetCode by clicking Get NetCode.
  9. Enter the received NetCode.
  10. Click Activate to finish the process.

  • Card activation is available 24/7 through both the app and NetBank.
  • Make sure your contact details are up to date to receive your NetCode by SMS.
  • After activation, your card is ready for ATM use, online shopping, and contactless payments.
