Transferring funds from your Commonwealth Bank (CommBank) account to another bank is straightforward and can be done through various platforms, including NetBank (online banking), the CommBank app, or PayID. Below are the steps for each method:

Using NetBank (Online Banking)

  1. Log in to your NetBank account.
  2. Navigate to Transfers & BPAY.
  3. Choose the account from which the money will be debited.
  4. Select the recipient's account. If it's not already listed, click + New payee, then Create new > Transfer, and enter the recipient's BSB, account number, and account name.
  5. Enter the amount to transfer.
  6. Click Pay to complete the transaction.

Using the CommBank App

  1. Open the CommBank app and log in.
  2. Tap on Pay & Transfer.
  3. Choose Pay Someone.
  4. Select an existing payee or tap the + icon to add a new one. For a new payee, enter their BSB, account number, and account name.
  5. Enter the amount to transfer.
  6. Confirm the details and tap Pay Now to complete the transfer.

Using PayID

PayID allows for faster and easier transfers using identifiers like mobile numbers or email addresses:

  1. Open the CommBank app or log in to NetBank.
  2. Navigate to Transfers & BPAY and select the recipient's PayID type (e.g., mobile number or email address).
  3. Enter the recipient's PayID details.
  4. Enter the amount to transfer.
  5. Confirm the details and complete the transfer. First-time payments to a new payee may be held for up to 24 hours as a security measure.
