Bankwest offers international money transfers for its customers. To initiate an international transfer, follow these steps:

How to Make an International Money Transfer in Bankwest

Via Online Banking

  1. Log in to your Bankwest Online Banking account.
  2. Navigate to Payments & transfers.
  3. Select Make a payment, then choose International transfer.
  4. Complete the international money transfer form with the required details.
  5. Click Create transfer.
  6. Opt for SMS me now to receive a verification code.
  7. Confirm the transaction using the code sent to your mobile device.

Via Mobile Banking App

  1. Open the Bankwest mobile banking app and log in.
  2. Tap on the Menu.
  3. Choose Make a payment.
  4. Select the account or credit card for the transaction.
  5. Choose BPAY Biller.
  6. Tap on Add Biller or select a company from the list.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the transfer.

Fees and Charges

Bankwest charges the following fees for international money transfers:

  • Receiving funds from abroad: Free
  • Sending money overseas via online banking: $15 AUD
  • Sending money overseas in a branch: $35 AUD

Note: Bankwest absorbs fees imposed by other financial institutions involved in foreign currency transfers (excluding AUD). The beneficiary’s financial institution may charge fees directly to their account.

Transfer Limits

The maximum limit for international money transfers is $20,000 AUD per day. To increase this limit, ensure you are registered for SMS Code Security or Secret Questions Security. Higher limits may also be arranged by contacting Bankwest directly.

Bankwest SWIFT Code

For international transfers, provide the following details to the sender:

  • SWIFT Code: BKWAAU6P
  • Bankwest Address: 300 Murray Street, Perth, WA 6000, Australia
  • Your 13-digit BSB and account number
  • Your residential address (Note: PO Box addresses are not accepted for security reasons)
