If you want to personalize or update the name of your account at Commonwealth Bank, you can do this easily via the mobile app or Internet banking. Changing the account name helps you better organize your finances and quickly identify accounts.

Change Account Name Using the CommBank Mobile App

  1. Sign in to the CommBank mobile app on your device.
  2. Go to the Accounts section.
  3. Select the account you want to rename.
  4. Tap the settings cog icon for the chosen account.
  5. Press the pencil (edit) icon next to the account name.
  6. Enter the new account name you prefer.
  7. Tap Done to save your changes.

Change Account Name Using NetBank Internet Banking

  1. Log in to your NetBank account online.
  2. Navigate to Settings in the menu.
  3. Select Display preferences.
  4. Find the Nickname option.
  5. Enter the new name next to the account you want to rename.
  6. Click Save changes to update your account name.

  • Changing the account name does not affect the account number or banking details.
