Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) offers bank cheques to customers for secure payments. As of October 21, 2023, the fee for issuing a bank cheque is $15.00, plus any applicable stamp duty. To avoid this fee, consider using electronic funds transfers, which are secure, fast, and reliable alternatives to bank cheques.

Additionally, CBA has been phasing out cheque access for certain accounts. Since June 3, 2023, new accounts such as Business Transaction Accounts, Overdraft Cheque Accounts, and others opened after this date will not have cheque access available. For existing accounts, cheque access remains available if a cheque book was issued before June 3, 2023. If a cheque book was not issued before this date, cheque access will not be available. Replacement cheque books are no longer issued automatically but can still be requested by contacting CBA or visiting a branch. For more details, refer to CBA's Changes to cheques page.
