Existing NAB Customer?

If you already bank with NAB, you can open a new savings or transaction account via the mobile app in just a few clicks:

  • Log into the NAB app.
  • Switch to Menu (or “More”).
  • Select New account or tap Products → choose Transaction or Savings account.
  • Pick your desired account (e.g. Classic Banking, Reward Saver, iSaver).
  • Follow on‑screen prompts (choose card colour, linked savings options, etc.).

New to NAB? Open Online via Website or App

Non-customers can open an account online within five minutes:

  • Go to the NAB website and click Get started next to the account of your choice (Classic Banking, iSaver, Reward Saver).
  • Complete the online form: personal details, eligibility check (14+, Australian tax resident), ID verification (passport/driver’s licence/Medicare).
  • Verify your identity electronically—have at least two forms of ID ready, especially if under 18.
  • Choose account type, card options (e.g. Visa Debit or Platinum), and link savings accounts if desired.
  • Submit application and receive confirmation—set up internet banking and await your Visa Debit card.

Opening a Joint Account

You can open a joint account online if:

  • Both applicants are new to NAB, or
  • Both are existing NAB customers, and you're not applying for a Retirement Account.

If only one party is a customer, you must apply in‑branch.

  • Must be an Australian resident for tax purposes.
  • No monthly fees for classic accounts; transaction & ATM access included on 4,000+ ATMs.

Post‑Application Steps

  • Once your digital application is processed, set up Internet Banking & NAB ID.
