Need to find your NAB IBAN? Here's why it’s not available—and what you should use instead when handling Australian bank accounts.
Do Australian Banks Use IBAN Codes?
Accounts at the National Australia Bank do not have IBANs. Such numbers are used by European banks, in the Middle East, and parts of Asia. Australian accounts instead rely on a BSB (Bank State Branch) number and an account number for identification—even for international transfers.
What Should Be Used Instead?
If you need to receive money from overseas, provide the sender with your BSB number and account number. You’ll also need to give them NAB’s SWIFT/BIC code (NATAAU3303M) along with your full legal name and street address. No IBAN is required. For further assistance, you can call NAB directly.
