Depositing a cheque using the NAB mobile app is a convenient and secure method, allowing you to complete the process from anywhere without visiting a branch. Here's how you can deposit a cheque using the NAB mobile banking app:
How to Deposit a Cheque Using the NAB Mobile App
- Log in to the NAB App: Open the NAB mobile banking app on your smartphone and log in using your credentials.
- Access the Deposit Feature: Navigate to the menu and select Cheque Deposit from the options available.
- Enter Deposit Details: Choose the account into which you wish to deposit the cheque. Enter the cheque amount and a description (optional).
- Capture Images of the Cheque: Using your phone's camera, scan both the front and back of the cheque. Ensure the entire cheque is within the scanning frame for optimal image quality.
- Review and Confirm: Verify the details and images of the cheque. Once confirmed, tap Confirm cheque deposit to complete the process.
Important Notes:
- Deposit Limits: You can deposit up to $5,000 in cheques over a seven-day period using the mobile app. Deposits exceeding this limit require a branch visit.
- Clearing Time: Cheques deposited before 10:00 PM (AEST/AEDT) on a business day will usually clear within three business days. Deposits made after 10:00 PM or on non-business days may take longer.
- Retention of Physical Cheque: After depositing the cheque, retain the physical cheque for 10 business days. NAB may request the original cheque during this period.
