See where you can find the Commonwealth Bank credit rating

Here is the latest credit rating for Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA). Some earlier statements were close, but there are small differences in the exact ratings.

Current Credit Ratings for CommBank

  • Fitch Ratings: Long-term rating is AA-, Outlook Stable. Short-term rating is F1.
  • Standard & Poor’s (S&P): Long term rating is AA-, Outlook Stable. Short term rating is A-1+.
  • Moody’s: Long term rating is Aa3.

How This Differs from Earlier Claims

  • The earlier listing of Standard & Poor’s “Long term – AA-” matches current. The Short term “A-1+” is also correct.
  • Earlier claims for Fitch (“Long term – A+”, “Short term – F1”) are not correct; Fitch currently rates CommBank at AA- long term.
  • Earlier claim for Moody’s long term as “Aa3” is correct. The earlier claim of short term “P-1” is less clear or not prominently listed now.

Other Notes

  • CommBank aims to maintain its credit rating in the ‘AA’ band.
  • Outlooks from agencies are currently stable.
