John Hopton commenced his accounting career as a trainee with the Newcastle based practice of R C Vidal & Co. in 1958. R C Vidal & Co. was established in the 1920’s and later changed name to K A Vidal & Co. on the retirement of Mr R C Vidal. After 13 years working in the practice John took over in 1971 and continued to operate the practice until 2021 when it was passed onto his son Andrew. Andrew has worked full time in the family-owned business since 2001 where he started as a trainee. After graduating from the Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Finance, Andrew became a member of CPA Australia and is also a holder of a CPA Australia Public Practice Certificate. Our client base covers a wide range of industries, including transport, allied health, construction, IT and professional services.
