Activate Using the Westpac Mobile App

  • Open the Westpac Mobile Banking App and swipe up to access Services.
  • Select Activate your card, log in, and follow the prompts.
  • Hold your Handycard up to your phone: on iPhone use the camera scanner; on Android, place the card on the back until your phone vibrates, then tap Activate.

Activate via Online Banking (Desktop)

  • Log in to Westpac Online Banking.
  • Go to Services > Card Services > Activate physical card.
  • Enter your card details, set your PIN if required, and click Activate.

Useful Information

  • The default daily payment limit for Handycard transactions is AUD 750. You can increase this limit via online banking.
  • Your card’s three-digit CVV code is printed on the back of the Handycard. If it's unreadable or missing, you can request a replacement card.
  • Digital Handycard versions are auto-activated when added to your mobile wallet and do not require manual activation.

Once activated, your Handycard is ready to be used across Australia and overseas, online, at EFTPOS terminals, ATMs, and with PayPass and PayPal. For assistance, visit the official Westpac website or contact customer support.
