Can I Deposit Coins at Westpac?

A client of Westpac can both change notes to coins, and deposit coins at Westpac Coin Deposit Machines (CDMs) across Australia and New Zealand.

These machines allow you to deposit coins using your Westpac debit card—there is no need to sort or bag coins yourself.

Fees for Coin Deposits

  • Westpac clients: free of charge
  • Non‑client users: $5 per transaction fee

Accepted Denominations

  • Australian & NZ coins: 10¢, 20¢, 50¢, $1 and $2 coins
  • Also accepts $5 and $10 notes (for change only)

Corporate Customer Options

  • Corporate clients can request a “change card” from their servicing branch
  • This lets authorised staff use CDMs to make cash change or deposit coins

Deposit Limits & Processing

  • Coin deposits are credited instantly on the same day
  • Maximum daily limit: $10,000 in cash (notes or coins) per account using your Westpac card
