Cashing and Depositing Westpac Cheques
A client can make cashing cheques of Westpac at the bank’s branch; just take your identity document (such as a passport or driver's licence).
You can also make a Westpac cheque deposit via the Westpac mobile application. To do so, follow these steps:

- Click “Self serve” > “Account services” > “Cheque deposit”
- Input the cheque sum and choose the deposited account
- Photograph the front and back of the cheque and submit
Deposits via the app are subject to a daily and weekly limit (usually $20,000 over 7 days) and typically clear within 3 business days.

The cost of issuing a bank cheque at Westpac is currently 10 AUD. A dishonour fee of 20 AUD may apply if a cheque does not clear.

A client can overdraw his Westpac cheque account if an overdraft option is added. This allows the account to go below zero up to a pre-approved limit.

- Phone 132-142 for business accounts
